James Knott C of E Primary School is proud to offer a comprehensive Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provision.
Nursery
All children age 3 and 4 are entitled to a 15 hours nursery session.
We offer a morning nursery session 8.30 – 11.30am. (Children start the term after their third birthday). We do not currently offer an afternoon Nursery session, but this may change in 2022.
We also offer 30 hours provision which is available for nursery age children (3 and 4 years old) who meet the criteria. This is for working families in England. The offer is:
- 30 hours of free childcare or early education for 38 weeks
- A total of 1,140 hours per year, that you can use flexibly with one or more childcare provider
30 hour provision session times: 8.30am – 3.00pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday), 8.30am – 12.30pm on Wednesdays

Reception
We have one Reception class for children who will have their 5th birthday in that academic year. Our school day begins at 8.45am and ends at 3.15pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with a 2.00pm finish on a Wednesday.
