James Knott C of E Primary School is proud to offer a comprehensive Early Years Foundation Stage
(EYFS) provision.
2 Year Old
15 hours free childcare or early education for 38 weeks for 2-year old children and their families who
receive some forms of support.
To be able to take up 15 hours of free childcare for your two-year-old you must meet the eligibility
criteria. Please visit GOV.UK for further information.
We offer a 15 hour morning session for 2 year olds (funded places available) during term time
between 8.30-11.30am, Monday to Friday.

Nursery
All children age 3 and 4 are entitled to a 15 hours nursery session.
We offer a morning nursery session 8.30 – 11.30am. (Children start the term after their third
birthday). We do not currently offer an afternoon Nursery session.
We also offer 30 hours provision which is available for nursery age children (3 and 4 years old) who
meet the criteria. This is for working families in England. The offer is:
30 hours of free childcare or early education for 38 weeks
A total of 1,140 hours per year, that you can use flexibly with one or more childcare provider
30 hour provision session times: 8.30am – 3.15pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday),
8.30am – 11.30pm on Wednesdays

Reception
We have one Reception class for children who will have their 5th birthday in that academic year. Our
school day begins at 8.40am and ends at 3.30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with a
2.00pm finish on a Wednesday.
